My first pattern The Ruched-T has been out a few months now and I have really enjoyed all the emails and facebook postings from everyone wearing their new tops A few of you have asked how I do the ruching and I thought the best way to explain is to just show you. So I have put together a short video and of course I had to show another awesome feature on the Brother Dreamweaver XE VM6200D, the multi function foot controller. This special foot allows you to use your feet to backstitch, cut the thread, put the needle down, etc. and then you can keep your hands on the fabrics while sewing! Wait until you see this one! Anyway, enjoy ruching your tee’s and keep sending me photo’s, I love it xoxo Angela
Brother™ has provided me with the DreamWeaver XE, but all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Fashion and sewing have been a passion of mine since childhood. “I used to sneak fabric out of my mother’s closet, but I was too young to understand patterns. So I would lie on the fabric, have my younger sister's draw an outline of my body with chalk onto the fabric, and then my creations would begin. I am happy to say my designing has come a long way since then :)”
In 1994, with a bachelor degree in business management from Illinois State University and a brand new sewing machine and serger as a graduation gift from my family, I started ABO APPAREL. I began with women’s custom apparel and thru the year’s added alterations and wardrobe planning. An A-list clientele has given me over sixteen years of experience dressing and fitting many diverse women and has enabled me to understand the different styles that compliment each individual.
Impeccably tailored jackets with beautiful silk, hand dyed charmeuse linings are a signature of my work and many of my designs also include intricate hand beading and custom trims. Styles range from Casual Resort Wear to Extravagant Evening Wear, always enhancing every woman that wears my apparel.
It is truly that easy….and the tape you sent is perfect for this technique.
I found some tape at my local fabric store in the home dec section.
Lovely pattern and I get lots of compliments when I wear my tee’s.
Angela, your timing could not have been more perfect! I sewed up the long sleeved Ruched – T with a tall collar with the twist last weekend but didn’t finish with the twill tape yet. Thank you for the video tips.
The design is really fun. What is so great about it is that with the many options in choosing your design, the Ruched – T pattern can take you through all four seasons. I can’t wait to make another one!
Wow that was strange. I just wrote an incredibly long comment
but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t appear. Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again.
Anyway, just wanted to say wonderful blog!

Thanks Ann, I really like that second top you made where you raised the neckline.
